Developments in Tribal, State, and Federal Laws that Protect Indian Families

This session will explore the coordination and intersection of tribal, state, and federal laws designed to protect Indian children and preserve families. Topics to be discussed include developments in case law involving placement preferences and standing, tribal jurisdiction, existing state ICWAs, and the effort to get a Uniform Law Commission (ULC) model act on Indian child welfare.
