Jason Freihage is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management (DAS-M) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs at the Department of the Interior. DAS-M provides administrative services and policy oversight across Indian Affairs organizations for finance and budget, acquisitions and grants, strategic planning, human resources management, construction and facilities management, and information management and technology. Prior to joining Indian Affairs, Mr. Freihage was the Chief of the Budget and Program Review Division within the Department of the Interior’s Office of Budget, and he also worked at the U.S. Geological Survey as the Budget Officer and lead for Strategic Planning and Performance. Mr. Freihage served as professional staff for the Committee on the Budget at the House of Representatives and as an Office of Management and Budget program examiner. He started his Federal career advancing rural development with the Peace Corps in Cape Verde, West Africa.
