Gregory Bigler is the Chief District Judge for the Sac and Fox Nation. He has served as Chief District Judge of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, and appellate Judge or Justice for the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas, Mashantucket Pequot Nation, Quapaw Tribe, Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, and Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska. He also served as a judge for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation's implementation of the McGirt decision. With G. William Rice at Rice & Bigler, the firm won Oklahoma Tax Commission v. Sac and Fox Nation (1993) and helped implement the Violence Against Women Act. He facilitated the translation of the UN Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples into the Mvskoke language and has published numerous books and articles, including Traditional Jurisprudence and Protection of Our Society: A Jurisgenerative Tail (American Indian Law Review, 2018) and Rabbit Decolonizes the Forest - Stories from the Euchee Reservation (OU Press, 2024). He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1985 and his LL.M. from Wisconsin Law School in 1988. Mr. Bigler is a member of the Euchee Nation (Muscogee), with a particular interest in Euchee language revitalization, and is a member of the Polecat Ceremonial Grounds.

Join Gregory Bigler, Kristen Carpenter, and Harrison Rice for a question-and-answer dialogue on the history of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, its content, and its importance to tribal law practice. They will discuss the international bodies that interact with Indigenous Peoples and explore how the Declaration can be used domestically.
