In 2007 the Indigenous Law and Policy Center asked Zoey Wood-Salomon to do two paintings for us, one to use for the Indigenous Law and Policy Center generally and another for our 4th annual Indigenous Law Conference. Ever since then, we’ve used original Native art for our programs and posters. Visit Turtle Talk to see art through the years and learn more about this year's artist below.
Three Brothers
Shayleen (Shay) Finley is a two-spirit indigenous artist from the Arrow Lakes Band of the Colville Tribes. They are a self-taught artist from a young age and only recently began to put their art in the public view. Their art often is auctioned for charity and raising awareness of MMIW and other social justice movements. They enjoy working with watercolors the most.
