Chantal Reyes has been serving as a Staff Attorney for the Redding Rancheria since November 2025. Chantal graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in May 2025. During law school, Chantal clerked at the Environmental Protection Agency, Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, and Hobbs, Straus, Dean & Walker, LLP. Chantal currently works on a range of projects, including contracts, gaming, land acquisitions, economic development, and creates processes to ensure compliance with tribal law as it relates to Tribal Property.

Tribal Court Forms and Subpoenas – How Tribes Preserve Sovereign Immunity When Responding to Requests from Federal, State, and Local Governments for Tribal Property or Tribal-Employee Testimony
Redding Rancheria has successfully created a Tribal Court Form that U.S. attorneys, the local District Attorney and Public Defender, and other third-party attorneys use to request and potentially obtain tribal property or tribal employee testimony. With this approach, the tribe preserves sovereign immunity while cooperating with federal, state, and local governments. Join Chantal Reyes, Heaven Collins, and Michael Hollowell for an interactive session which will include a refresher on sovereign immunity and a robust discussion surrounding the use of Tribal Court Forms and Tribal Court Subpoenas.
